Gender Reveal Ideas

Wednesday, June 29, 2016

Our Gender Reveal is quickly approaching and I am so excited. I pretty much have a general idea about what we want because well it took of five years to get to this point so of course I have had this planned out in my brain for ever. We will be having the party at a restaurant since we are looking to move and we aren't really sure when that will take place. So I turned to the trusty Pinterest and here are a few cute ideas that it came up with....

Five on Friday: Summer Beauty Favs

Friday, June 24, 2016

Well here it is the day that I wait for beginning on Monday each week. I love summer Fridays because I know at 5pm I will be able to leave the troubles of the week and began another weekend of summer fun. So since it is the first wonderful week of summer here are my five favorite summer beauty essentials.

one.

Of course number one will always be Jergen's natural glow. My skin is pasty and white so this stuff really kicks all my summer burn. I would say tan but that just doesn't happen. Lets be honest anything this white well tan just does happen. I have come to terms and accepted it.

two.

Yep you guessed it... sun block. My skin is super sensitive and I have to watch what I put on it and this sun block. It's a miracle. It is very pricey but sometimes you can find it a Ulta buy on get one half off. When that happens stock up! This doesn't have any bad chemicals in it and smells like you just walked out on the beach.

three.
It's all fun and games in the pool until someone gets out and has a rats nest for hair and 99% of the time that is me. I have nappy wavy hair and if I don't put something in it my hair goes everywhere. I love spraying  this amazing spray or using the texturing cream because then I know my hair will at least be a little manageable.

four.

Oh the love affair that you can have with a good creaseless hair tie. Nothing is better than being able to throw your hair up on your head and go on about your business in the pool. The creaseless way is the only way to go....

five.

Dear sweet sweet Hoola by Benefit. I love when my face is in the sun and clears up. I can throw on a few dashes of this beautiful bronzer and away we go. I love the sun-kissed glow that it gives without going over board. You don't look blotchy you just look sun kissed. It's amazing!!!

So now that I told you my summer favorites.... please share your summer favs!!

Taco Libre MGM

Monday, June 20, 2016

People there is only a few things in life that makes me ecstatic and excited to countdown and well one of those things happened this weekend. TACOS!!! We went to Montgomery's first ever taco festival and to say that it was one of the best days of my life was a understatement. What more could you ask for Taco trucks, salsa, and water. There were of course adult beverages but the mini in my belly probably wouldn't have liked that much.

The festival was at a local train shed which actually worked out well since the wind was blowing. It was late afternoon so it wasn't to hot and the wind cooled everything down.

These were the awesome cups for beer that was handed to everyone as they walked through the doors. I of course had five glasses of water in it instead....

We had a total blast and walked away talking about how we can't wait until next year. We love tacos and anything to support our local Eat South Farms.  Next year there will be a baby in tow.....

First Trimester Must Haves

Friday, June 17, 2016

Since I am only a few weeks away from the second trimester I wanted to share some of the things that have helped me through the first one. The first trimester has not been easy by any means but the end result will totally be worth it.

Ginger Ale has been the best life saver. If I am not throwing up than I am in a constant state of feeling like I need too. This seems to be the only thing to help keep things settled. I like that it is caffeine free and doesn't keep me awake if I sip on it in the middle of the night.

This pillow is a gift from the god above. Before I got pregnant I was a stomach sleeper. That was the only way that I could sleep good at night. As soon as I got the words out of my mouth that the test was positive she told me to start sleeping on my side. Well that didn't work out to well for me. I had back pain and could not sleep because I was so uncomfortable. Finally I found this pregnancy pillow and it was like I couldn't sleep enough with this awesome pillow. It is a little pricey but I got the sleep that I needed.

Vitamins are a key roll in your first trimester. That is when all the major organs are forming and you want to make sure that you get all the vitamins and minerals that you need to develop a healthy baby. This prenatal with DHA has been the best for me so far. I purchase them a costco in a huge bottle that last for like 6 months. It is hard to keep food down so I make sure to take this everyday so I get as many vitamins possible for my baby. I take it right before bed which is when I am less likely to throw up.

Water...pee...water...pee.... get use to this trend. You have to drink water like a camel and you pee all the time. But I will tell you that I find having a cute water bottle will make drinking the gallons per day easier. I like to keep one that I can throw in my purse and go about my business.

Peppermints have been a life saver. When I get super nauseous I toss a peppermint in my mouth and that can sometimes easy my tummy. These even help after you get sick to kinda settle your tummy so you wont keep getting sick. That was a big problem that I had where I would get sick and a minute later back in the bathroom getting sick again. Until we were at a restaurant and I grabbed a peppermint. It kind settled my tummy enough and helped me not feel like I was gonna get sick again.

These are some of the things that have helped me get through the first trimester. There is a lot of sleep and relaxing involved. You are exhausted more than you are energized so take that time to relax.

Father's Day Gifts

Thursday, June 16, 2016

Father's Day approached much quicker than normal this year or it could be the long list of things on my mind preoccupying my brain right now that made me forget. Here are a few ideas that I had in my mind for the special men in my life.

J loves Bourbon. We did the bourbon trail at the end of last year and since then we have been hooked on great bourbon gear. One of the things on my list to get him is a nice Decanter that he can put on his bourbon barrel to look pretty and make serving way prettier. This set from Pottery Barns caught my eye really quick. It's not to girly and gives a great professional look.

Nothing says man or father better than a Mancrate. This is the best idea ever. Everything is already put together... no wrapping or tissue paper involved. They have a huge selection of different choices and you should be able to find something for every type of guy out there. J would love this one and I am diggin how it comes packaged.

What man doesn't like to be named the grill master. In order to be named the grill master the grill and the gear has to be top notch. That includes this awesome grill set with its own carrying case.

Of course every guy loves the restaurant gift card or the golf tee time. My guy loves to just sit on the couch and catch up on tv shows. I see a steak dinner in our future and hopes of a lazy day full of television watching in jammies.
