Dreaming of Baby Girl's Nursery

Friday, August 26, 2016

When it takes you five years to get pregnant you sorta plan every little detail out in your head on how you want everything to come together and be perfect. Since finding out that we are welcoming a baby girl my brain has been on decorating overload. I know that I want the nursery to have a soft but still girly feel. I was thinking light grey, pastel pink, lavender and mint. We have already picked a light grey crib but now we are on the lookout for bedding. Here are a few ideas that we may implement in our baby girls room.

Quad Screening Nightmare

Tuesday, August 23, 2016

Getting pregnant for us took a lot of patience and understanding. We the hard way that life doesn't happen the way that you want it to. You have to go through obstacles before you can come out a stronger person. You have to understand that timing is everything and that you are most definitely not in control. Things have a way to happening when and how they are suppose to happen. We learned another lesson a few weeks ago that at first we weren't going to share with anyone but now that we know the final result we feel more comfortable sharing.

When we went to my first second trimester doctors appointment my obgyn offered us the Quad screening. We decided early on that we weren't going to do the test that you have to pay for to learn the gender or anything. Why pay the extra money to fins out early when they would be running the same test at the Quad screening. So at the appointment I had my blood work done and pranced out of the office on cloud nine. As we were walking out my doctor saw us and said now on that blood work no news is good news. I just knew everything would be perfect. I mean come on we worked so hard to get pregnant the rest of the show should be smooth sailing. Well about a week later I see my doctor's office number on the phone and I pick up. I had forgot about the labs and gone on about my week. She said you did have abnormal numbers on the lab work can you come in to get the more advanced labs done. I drove like a bat out of hell to the doctors office in tears and had the labs done. My poor doctor came out of a room and saw me hysterically crying about everything. She told me to come down that most of these come back abnormal and they are perfectly fine. She said in her career only six of the advance testing had come back positive with a abnormality. That still didn't calm my nerves but I decided that I would carry on and get the labs over with. My doctor told me on the way out that the test would take two weeks to come back. To be honest during that two week wait I attempted every way possible to disconnect myself from the labs and the possibility that this baby will have a hard life.

Two weeks to the day my doctor's office called to tell me that everything came back negative and the baby was perfectly healthy. I cried and thanked her for calling me. When I got off the phone I was actually able to relax for the first time in two weeks. I can't answer the questions of what would have happened if those results came back positive. We live in a hard world and I could only imagine the struggles that a child has to go through on a normal day. I thank god for giving us a healthy baby girl and I hope that no one ever has to go through the two weeks of hell..

Thursday Confessions

Thursday, August 11, 2016

I confess.... that this last day before our gender reveal will be the longest day of my life.... Come on clock count down faster.

I confess.... that the most exciting thing about today is tickets go on sale for a burger bash. I am stalking the ticket sales page so I can purchase ours. ALL YOU CAN EAT HAMBURGERS! We went last year and by the time we were done eating we had to be practically rolled out.

I confess.... I may have over reacted yesterday when there was a mosquito near my husband in my in- laws house. Telling him that he needed to be tested for zika may have not been the best way to react. #sorry

I confess.... that the best part of the Olympics have been the swimming and gymnastic. The rest is a snooze.

I confess.... we started looking at maternity and newborn photographers and the price tag makes me want to have a panic attack. Oh my I am in the wrong trade.

I confess.... that I am trying to fit in all my regular clothes and sometimes it isn't cute. #pregnantgirlproblems

Have a fantastic Thursday!

Weekending

Tuesday, August 9, 2016

Happy Tuesday! This weekend flew... man were are the summer days going. This weekend was a pretty relaxed one and I can not complain about that. That is just what this girl needs. Saturday J spent most of his day at a conference for continued education hours. That let me have time to clean and relax for most of the day. I went to Kohl's since it was tax free weekend and picked up a few gender neutral items for peanut. I hit the grocery store on the way home then went home to get away from the tax free school moms. Goodness they were hitting the stores hard.

Sunday we did our usually thing here lately and pilled in the car to house hunt. Every home that we have picked hasn't passed the inspection and would be a lot of money to fix. We just aren't at that point in our lives were we want to put a bunch of time and effort into fixing a home. We found a new house that we are very interested in. I am hoping it works out and is a option for us. It is in a neighborhood were they focus on the community and outside living. They have pools and playgrounds everywhere. It is surrounding a lake and the community is amazing. Plus it has this girls dream bath tub..

We are going to look at it again tonight and hope to make a decision this week...

Friday Favs

Friday, August 5, 2016

Happy Friday Everyone!! I have been counting down this day since I woke up Monday morning at 6 a.m. I love the weekends and of course the sleep that comes along with the weekend.

One. We are now ONE WEEK away from finding out what this peanut is. I am so excited and can barely sit still when I think about it. We received our gender lab results but it is tucked away in a envelope until next Friday.

Two. This weekend is tax free back to school shopping. Everything from shoes to clothes to electronics are tax free and we are ready to stock up on a few things. Each year we go and get something that we are need of.

Three. Guys we are a little over three weeks away from football season. That is the best time of the year. You know it is getting colder and the nights are getting longer. Oh I just love boots and pumpkin everything. #basicwhitegirl

Four. J's family from Pennsylvania are officially on the way down to visit. We are excited about there two week stay and the fun things that we have planned. We are going to baseball games and having birthday celebrations.

Five. I have been looking for ways to organize my pantry and make items easier to find. I think this lady has nailed it.

Thursday Confessions

Thursday, August 4, 2016

I confess....that I thought about calling in every day this week just so I can sleep a little bit longer. I go to bed at a reasonable time but I never feel rested when I wake up.

I confess....  that I had someone else at work tell me that I am to big to just be 17 weeks. I also confess it took everything not to yell at her.

I confess.... that I am gonna start burning Fall candles and decorating like any day now. I am so over summer and can't wait to wear leggings and boots.

I confess.... that the Olympics are disgusting to me this year. Maybe it has do with the dead body that they pulled from the swimming river a week or two ago. Maybe it has something to do with Zika.... #vomit

I confess.... drinking so much water every day annoys me. I hear all these pregnant people talk about how easy it is with there 32Oz camel back. Girl don't lie to me....

I confess.... that we aren't any closer to finding a house and I am over it.  Like for real....
