One Month Favorites: Gear

Happy Hump Day! These past six weeks have been a doozy. Believe me when I say that I did not believe everyone when they said having a baby is a complete game changer. Your life completely changes. Suddenly you don't matter anymore. This little human becomes your whole world. You hurt when they hurt.. You smile when they smile... You love them with every being in your body. With that being said motherhood is the hardest thing that I have every done with my whole entire life. Of course it is amazing and I would not trade it for anything. It's exhausting, challenging, and the best thing you could ever do. So now that I got all that out here are our favorite baby gear things that we couldn't live without during the first month. I will be doing a separate post for feeding items that we couldn't live without.

This thing is amazing. For convince we have her sleeping in our room every night in this amazing invention. She likes that it rocks her to sleep and if she wakes up before it is time to eat I turn the rocker on and she slowly drifts back off. Plus our sweet monkey has colic and reflux issues so this has her sleeping at a incline which helps a bunch.

Baby wearing is amazing. I mean it... Like pure bliss. I feel so much more accomplished when I can wear her and still be able to move and get things done. I try to let her name in her crib as much as possible but with the reflux and spitting up she can't lay down right when she is done eating. So I throw on my wrap and bam I can do things until the next feeding. We have the other ergobaby carrier for when she gets older but this is more her speed for her current size.

4Moms Mamaroo and RockaRoo
We decided to get both of these for separate rooms and I am so glad that we did. Charlee loves both of these and it is nice to have to carry them around the house everywhere. We have the rock n play in our room, the mamaroo in the living area, and the rockaroo in her room.  They all work different and she likes them all so I am very happy with all of these purchases.

I love love love this travel system. The modern sleek design was perfect for what we were looking for. The three wheels makes it a smooth ride around the neighborhood and target.... I have been super impressed with this travel system.

These are all the items that we couldn't live without during the first month. Stay tuned for feeding items and a one month update.

Our Birth Story

She is here.... If you follow me on Instagram or Facebook you already know that we welcomed our sweet baby girl January 11th.

World Meet Charlee Margaret

So here goes my birth story.. Even before I became pregnant I knew that I wanted a natural birth and did everything possible to prepare myself to have this type of birth. I wanted to do hypnobirthing and be able to move around as I please. Well god had a different plan for me. Wednesday morning I woke up having a contraction and decided since I was up I should go ahead and pee. Since when you are pregnant you have to get up multiple times I figured why not go ahead and get up while I was already up. I peed and headed back to bed then as I was getting in the bed I noticed a gush of water and realized that my water broke. I showered and woke the hubby up to start getting ready. I finished packing my bag and we headed to the hospital. We got there about two and headed to ob triage to see if my water had in fact ruptured. It had so they admitted me to start the labor process. The hospital has a policy that you can not get out of bed when you water breaks due to the possibility that the cord can slip out. I labored from 1am to about 9am only moving 1cm. They decided to start labor inducing meds since my water had broke and I was progressing. About 11am the contracts were to strong and I couldn't move so they were really intense. I decided at that point I needed to get a epidural to relax my body and be able to move my labor along. I received the epidural and went from 3cm to 5cm in 40 mins. 45 mins later they checked me and I was 7cm. I progressed really fast after the epidural since I was more relaxed. At 4pm I started pushing and pushed for over a hour before they decided to try a peanut ball to see if she would move down a little bit on her own. I sat with the ball in between my legs for a hour and they checked to see if she moved down. She moved down enough for me to push again. I pushed for over 40 minutes and the doctor stopped to have a talk about what next. We decided that it had been 19 hours and we needed to get the baby out safely. At this point her heart rate would drop with every contraction and push and during rest she would go back to normal. We made the decision to move forward with a c section. 19 hours of labor and using a vacuum  came down to doing a section. I was rushed back and within 20 minutes later we welcomed our sweet girl into the world. This did not go as planned but I would not trade her for anything. Her birth did not go any where near how I wanted it to but I did what was best for her.
